Meet the Team
Marc Candels
President
Marc has 35 years’ experience in the electrical contracting industry. Before starting Candels Estimating, Marc was a Regional Vice President for Quanta Services in the north east markets. Marc holds a Master Electrician’s license in multiple states including Connecticut, North Carolina and Florida. Marc teaches Electrical license Continuation Education classes at our Florida location as well as online. Marc serves on the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) Code Panel 4 (overhead clearances) and the Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) Standards Technical Panel (STP 1565, Positioning Devices).
Linda Candels
Vice President
Linda Candels, one of the founding partners Candels Estimating, received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut. Prior to this, Linda worked in sales and marketing positions at the Otis Elevator Company, United Abrasives, Baumer Electric, Colt’s Manufacturing and ABS Pumps. Linda has strong experience in business-to-business marketing and has used that experience to the company’s advantage. Mrs. Candels has written for several industry magazines including Estimating Today, IEC Insights, and Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) Magazine.
George H.
Chief Estimator
A local 3 Electrician from Long Island, NY, George has over 27 years of experience in the electrical industry as well as working for NY City contractors both in the office and the field. George joined Candels several years ago and is a part of the estimating training team as well. Twin daughters and his wife keep George busy on his off hours.
Carrie A.
Project Controller
Originally from Maryland, Carrie has over 13 years of experience in the construction industry before joining Candels Estimating. As our Project Controller, Carrie’s responsibilities include sorting, organizing, and processing bid requests. More importantly, Carrie always makes sure the team stays on top of their schedule. In 2016, Carrie successfully completed the Candels Electrical Estimating Training Program. That is especially helpful when Carrie needs to jump into Estimating during our busier times of the year. Overall, Carrie is the true hub of the Estimating Department as our Clients and Team have come to know and appreciate. While not at work, Carrie enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her dog Parker, all while soaking up the Florida sunshine.
Luis M.
Estimator
Luis, originally from Puerto Rico, has been in the electrical field for over 20 years with a vast background in industrial construction. Luis graduated from Rochester Business Institute majoring in Computer Programing and has proven to be an asset to the Candels Estimating team to his ability to manipulate databases and his bi-lingual abilities.
Nate C.
Estimator
Nate is originally from Washington state. Nate came from the field with over 15-years of electrical experience. He has worked in both Washington and Florida on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Outside of the office, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife, Kory, for 14-years and has two boys who both love basketball, fishing, and, of course, video games.
Dustin L.
Estimator
Dustin joined Candels as an Estimator in the Summer of 2020. Dustin was born and raised right here in Southwest Florida where he developed a very unique background ranging from Commercial Electrical Construction to Graphic Design and even Restaurant Management. It is evident by his performance that this diverse background and experience made Dustin a great fit for this position. When work is done, Dustin loves to spend time at home with his wife, children, and their three dogs. When Dustin has some time alone, he enjoys art, origami, and playing one of his many instruments — piano, guitar, ukelele, and ocarina.
